접착촉진제(Adhesion Promoters)

차트웰은 단일금속 혹은 두 개의 금속 조합형으로 유기. 무기 관능기 따라 여러가지 형태의 제품이 있으며, 유기물과 무기물을 연결시켜주는 Coupling agent의 역할을 하며 다양한 파우더 처리, 수지의 접착성 증진, 유기물 합성시 원재료로서도 사용하고 있습니다. 특히 파우더를 차트웰로 처리해줌으로써 분쇄효과, 발수성, 흐름성 등을 증진시키고 서로 뭉쳐지는 것을 방지합니다. 차트웰을 사용함으로써 접착성, 흐름성, 레벨링 효과 (표면을 고르게 하는 효과), 필러 및 안료 분산효과, 발수성 증대 등의 이점을 얻을 수 있습니다.



Chartwell 제품은 평범한 Silan에 비하여 가격적으로 저렴하며, 장시간을 방치해도 물성이 변하지 않는 현격한 가수분해 안정성 및 성능을 자랑한다. 연희실업은 한국내 총판(Exclusive Distributor) 이다.​

The Corporation was formed in January 1991 by Lawrence B. Cohen as a manufacturer of unique proprietary metal organic adhesion promoters marketed worldwide to manufacturers of specialty rubbers, coatings, abrasives, adhesives, plastics, and similar specialty chemical end users. For its first two years the company confined its marketing activities to Taiwan, Korea, and Western Europe due to a post contractual obligation which precluded LBC from engaging in activities in the US market during this time. This marketing was achieved by entering into agreements with established distributors with whom LBC had long-standing prior relationships.



By late 1992, Chartwell began to make a significant entry into the US marketplace with publication of several press releases introducing its products and with the concomitant establishment of a network of US sales agents. Today the company is served by sales agents throughout the US in addition to our international agents; providing us with a sales staff numbering greater than seventy individuals. Chartwell is dedicated to continued growth and expansion of our technology.



The company began with three liquid products in January of 1991. Our product offerings now consist of forty different liquid products and six solid products (Trade name Chartsil). We constantly strive to expand and improve upon our existing technology.

Our current development efforts are now targeted at:

1.  Lower cost products achieved by going upstream in our processes to begin with less complex metal compounds which we then modify in a series of process steps.
2.  Higher reactivity products achieved with increased levels of organoreactive groups.
3.  Higher active matter concentrations now exceeding 50% for some grades.

Chartwell Manufacturing

Essentially all manufacturing of Chartwell liquid products is done at the company's Attleboro Falls, Massachusetts headquarters in steam jacketed reactors by highly experienced Chartwell personnel. Quality Control Analysis of the liquid products is also performed in Attleboro Falls in the company's QC laboratory.

Chartsil solid adhesion promoters are manufactured in Savannah, Georgia by a toll manufacturer who has over thirty years experience converting liquid additives to solid form.
QC of the Chartsil products is also performed at the Savannah location.

Lawrence B. Cohen Personal History Lawrence B. Cohen has been involved in the development and marketing of metal organic adhesion promoters since 1976 working successively for Union Carbide, Cavedon Chemical, Manchem, Inc., and Rhone Poulenc. He holds numerous patents on metal organic adhesion promoters, has published more than 20 technical articles, contributed Chapters to three books, and has delivered numerous technical presentations around the world since 1983.
